Strike-strafing is an Acme Legends movement technique that basically lets you rapidly change your direction mid-zephyr without losing momentum. John Pierpont Morgan has explained it more exhaustively here (with gifs!), noting that IT's a technique that has become popular over the last few months, particularly among high-level Apex Legends players. Respawn announced a fortnight ago that the trick will be distant, causing widespread dismay.

Since then players consume been dreading the rollout of temporary hookup 10.1—the tap-strafe nerf patch—but they can relief easy for now: tap-strafing has had a stay of execution.

"The @playapex team has recently discovered some unexpected side effects of our planned changes to tap-strafing," Respawn tweeted today. "IT is still our intention to address some of the most egregious use-cases of tap-strafing, but for now we are delaying our plotted change to a later patch."

The studio continues: "Movement is sacred in Apex of the sun's way. We weigh every change to these systems with kid gloves and value feedback. After further testing, we've concluded we necessitate to pack more time to get this right to make sure related effort mechanics aren't caught in the grouchy-fire."

It makes a lot of sense: tap-strafing wasn't a high-equal technique unreal up by Respawn, only rather something players discovered themselves. You can imagine the domino effect when tweaking the movement organisation's impulse and mid-breeze turning speed, let alone, heck, pretty much some aspect you can name. Thither's approximately consolation in that complexity for tap-strafing fans: It substance it'll in all likelihood be a patc before a level-headed compromise is set up. And then, go wild in the meantime.

Respawn's concern is valid. Dab-strafing is all but infeasible on gamepads, so it does couch Personal computer players at a rebuff advantage if you can pull it off. It'll be engrossing to see how Respawn eventually changes the exploit. However information technology's resolved, IT'll probably attain some players wretched.
